June 11^th – 17^th is the 27^th Annual Homestead Days in Beatrice. And what a special year! The theme for 2012 is “150 years…Pursuing American Dreams.” The Homestead National Monument is celebrating the 150^th Anniversary of the signing of the Homestead Act. Events are planned all year long with the Anniversary celebration May 20^th and more special events scheduled during Homestead Days.

MembersOwn Credit Union has been a supporter of Homestead Days for many years. Thursday is the Kid’s Fun Event at the Beatrice High School. MembersOwn will sponsors the Chicken BBQ at the high school, with sit down or drive-thru starting at 5 pm until they run out of chicken.

Friday night MembersOwn is sponsoring the Bicycle Rendezvous. The Family Fun Ride, starts at 5:30 Friday night with riders going from Chatauqua Park to Riverside Park then back to Chatauqua. Sunday morning riders will leave Mead Lumber and ride to Pickrell and back. MembersOwn will meet the riders on Friday night with homemade cookies.

Saturday, the ‘Better Your Money’ Rickshaw sponsored by MembersOwn Credit Union will be in the parade starting at 10:00 am. The Rickshaw will then travel to Chatauqua Park and provide free rides to help you get around the park from noon to 4.
